Weekend Vibes
Another week is drawing to a close which is why we’re excited to share our top picks for ways we want to relax this weekend. And if you can’t wait to see what Leisurely will offer next (we get it), be sure to bookmark our upcoming events page as we’ll be adding more classes throughout the end of summer and into fall.
New York City Staycation
Santos Hot Chicken Pop Up, 31 Carmine Street, Friday through Sunday, 6 PM to 10:30 PM
We’re always on the lookout to try cool dinners from talented chefs, and this weekend has one we’re particularly excited about (and perhaps might offer on Leisurely one day) If you’re searching for a special pop up dining experience, we love that Chef David Santos brought his Nashville-style hot chicken dinners back to NYC this summer. The former chef of NYC’s Louro restaurant is offering guests a full spread which includes a whole fried bird or fish along with a fried chicken sandwich and select sides. Tickets can be reserved here.
Summer Streets, Various Locations, Saturday, 7 AM to 1 PM
If you haven’t had a chance to bike, skate, or walk your way through the streets of New York, take some time to explore a world where cars have become obsolete (well, at least for a little while). This Saturday’s activities include a photography workshop at The International Center for Photography and glass painting at The Africa Center. A selection of rest stops will also feature free samples and fitness activities, including a rock climbing wall and an agility course for your four legged friends.
Powerhouse Arts & Wine Festival, Coolvines Powerhouse, 350 Warren St., Jersey City, NJ, Saturday, 11 AM to 8 PM
We love exploring different neighborhoods whenever we have the chance, which is why this Saturday’s Powerhouse Arts and Wine Festival is the perfect excuse to visit Jersey City, also known as the place you’ve been wanting to check out but needed some extra incentive. The family friendly festival will feature a selection of musical and dance performances, with beer, wine, and spirit tastings available for purchase. Admission is free but tickets which include tastings can be purchased here.
