Restaurants We Know You Want to Put on Your Radar: Chikarashi Isso and Shukette

It’s still patio drinking season here in New York, which means we’ll be raising a refreshing Aperol Spritz this weekend before officially switching over to Starbucks’ new pumpkin cream cold brew. But you’re going to need some reading material while sipping on that sweet, delicious drink. That’s why we’re excited to share with you a few soon to open spots our friends have dropped a few hints about. Want to see any of these spots offer a Leisurely class? Let us know in the comments below.

.Chikarashi Isso, 38 Rector Street, New York

Need a new spot when visiting the Financial District? Chikarashi Isso is scheduled to open before the end of September and will offer a menu of yakitori, noodles, and tempura dishes. The restaurant is inspired by Japanese kappo cuisine, so guests can expect an array of casual, flavorful dishes made with tender love and care by the chef.

Shukette, 230 Ninth Avenue, New York

Fans of Shuka chef Ayesha Nurdjaja will be happy to hear that the chef is bringing her brand of middle eastern cuisine - which is a really tasty brand - to a second location this fall in Chelsea. Guests will likely see the chef’s love of mezzes and shareable plates on the menu, along with meats and veggie kebabs roasted on a charcoal fired grill. We’re happy to hear chefs are still willing and able to open spots in New York City, and hoping this might make the wait for brunch a the SoHo location just a bit quicker too.
