Weekend Vibes: Your Last Chance at a Leisurely Dumpling Class

With a three-day weekend up ahead, we know some of you are going to have an extra excuse to party. That’s why we think you should check out our Leisurely class at Kings County Imperial this Thursday. If you’re not in the mood to get your hands a little dirty with dough, then consider these other life changing experiences.

Adults are really just giant children. Photo: Garmentdistrict.nyc

Ride a Seesaw, Broadway Between 37th and 38th Street, Through February 1st.

Let’s face it, the chance for adults to turn a city into a giant playground, or at least moreso than usual, is something that brings out the masses. Impulse is an art installation but really it’s a bunch of giant seesaws on a midtown block that will make you feel young again. It’s free and if you don’t mind waiting, it’s probably one of the best things you can do with a loved one this month. Whether or not you skip Valentine’s Day duties because of it is beyond us though

Celebrate the rich cultural traditions of the Balkans this weekend: Photo: Oresti Tsonopoulos

The Zlate Uste Golden Festival, Grand Prospect Hall, 63 Prospect Avenue, Brooklyn, Friday and Saturday

Breakdance like a Balkan at this celebration featuring over 50 live acts and plenty of regionally appropriate food too. We suggest taking a dip on the dance floor before dipping into some mezze, but you do you. Tickets start at $30 for Friday festivities and $45 for Saturday; reserve them here.

You probably don’t want to admit it but no alcohol cocktails are delicious! Photo: @LanaDrinks

Lanafest, The Vynl, 100 Third Avenue, Saturday

If you need to ease your way back into alcohol or just want to go to an event where no alcohol and low ABV cocktails are the stars of the show, consider checking out Lanafest. This event champions responsible drinking by making delicious cocktails you probably will forget don’t have alcohol in them by the end of the night (there’s some irony in that statement for sure). Tickets include unlimited food and drink and can be reserved here.
