Dante West Village Is Now Open!

In one of the most anticipated bar openings of the year (and one that was on the verge of not happening at all according to Bloomberg), Dante West Village is indeed open for outdoor service. In related news, you can’t walk on the sidewalk now at Hudson and Perry.

We just want to thank the building’s landlord for coming to their senses and allowing this gift from the cocktail gods to be delivered to us this summer. And even if there is still drama behind the scenes between owner Linden Pride and landlord William Gottlieb real estate, at least they can talk it out over a cocktail outside now.

To answer the most important question of the summer, yes there’s an Aperol Spritz cocktail on the menu, and it includes rhubarb, orange blossom, and contratto. There’s also room on the menu dedicated to martini hour featuring three different variations of a martini, including one dedicated to that “dirty” friend in your life. Cocktails range from $15 to $18. There’s also a few signature cocktails including Dante’s fluffy margarita and garibaldi, as well as a negroni azzurro.

There’s only one beer on the menu (Stella) but winos can find several sparkling wine and rose options. There’s a full food menu of bites like chorizo served with housemade sauerkraut and a milk bun, a burger, skirt steak, and slow roasted chicken. Also, servers are wearing really nice masks, which is a pretty big hint you should be too if you plan on drinking here.

From what we saw of the entranceway, it looks very nice and dimly lit, but for now your best bet is to get here ASAP because it will be packed most evenings until the end of time if it’s anything like the original location on MacDougal Street.
