Restaurant Radar: Can Cutlet Sandwich Co. Usher in a New Decade of Decent Delis?

A really good New York Deli is getting harder and harder to find, but at least one legendary restaurant family isn’t giving up hope. Cutlet Sandwich Co. isn’t the kind of deli or bodega where you can get a ready to eat sandwich, paper towels, a lotto ticket, and expired salsa. So some people might not find it authentic. But it is the kind where you can get BEC sandwiches, chicken cutlet topped with mozz and peppers, and order thick cut bacon. It’s the work of Richard Zaro from New York’s famous Zaro’s Family Bakery, Funny enough, this place is actually using Parisi Bakery for their rolls and hoagies. In any case, please be aware they take bread seriously here.

Chicken cutlets are clearly the main sandwich ingredient, but you can also get eggplant, herb roasted turkey breast, and grilled chicken too, with predetermined combinations and the ability to make your own the ordering format here. We could talk about each sandwich, but instead we’re just going to leave some photos right here for your amusement. Order up.
