Weekend Vibes: Why We Want to Eat Sushi While Watching Sumo Wrestlers Battle

Since you’re going to spend post-Thanksgiving Day Weekend recovering from that tryptophan, you should make it a point to get out of the house this weekend. We know it’s cold, and dark, and if you’re on the Citizen App, it may seem like not a day goes by that someone doesn’t try to rob a Chase ATM. But life is all about the moments, which is why we’re highlighting a few we think will make lasting memories.

Sumo + Sushi, Playstation Theater, 1515 Broadway, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Sure, eating a hot dog at a baseball game is pretty basic behavior. But we’re all about mixing it up here at Leisurely, which is why we’re wondering, why not snack on a bento box while watching two grown men in thongs hug it out? If you’re really adventurous, you can even eat an entire dinner ringside while watching sumo wrestlers demonstrate proper hip thrusting technique too. Ticket start at $49; reserve them here.

Willie Wonka might not be real, but there is a world of chocolatiers, chefs, and experimental chocolate artists who are gathering this weekend to share their greatest creations. Scheduled events include a hot chocolate festival, a chocolate fashion show, and plenty of demos that will help you perfect your drizzle; reserve a ticket here.

The Magnetic Fields, Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, Saturday

This is one of two upcoming concerts (the other is in December) you’ll have the chance to hear The Magnetic Fields in action. They will be playing 50 songs made with 50 different instruments celebrating 50 years of life. Though there’s no word on if 50 Cent will make a guest appearance, we’re thinking the concert will be just fine with our without him. Reserve a seat here.
