Restaurants We Know You Want to Put on Your Radar: Mister French Brings French Fries & Burlesque to The Bowery

There’s something about a chill in the air that makes us want to sit down and stuff our face with fries. Though new restaurants these days love to highlight how healthy they are, every so often there’s an opening that reminds us we CAN go out to eat and live a little. Mister French is such restaurant, which we know because they’re making it a point to highlight their french fries, which come with creative toppings as opposed to boring ones, plus dipping sauces. The menu is overseen by Chef David Burke, whose menu hits include a tree of bacon.

At Mister French, the menu is broken down into sections devoted to shared plates, maine courses, something called “table shares” which are just really big dishes made to share between two people, and like we said, a section dedicated to fries. To drink, there’s a collection of cocktails including several for the low ABV crowd along with a full bar.

If you’ve been following along, you probably realize with so much focus on shareable plates, the restaurant is a biggie. It’s 4,600 square feet with 150-seats in total. There’s a main dining room with banquettes, a moure lounge like room called The Solarium which we’re guessing is where you’ll want to go on date night, and a bar area. There’s also an 8-seat chef’s counter for those solo diners or couples that enjoy seeing food like roti with beets and goat cheese prepared in front of them. The marble counter is an ideal back drop for the ‘gram too.

The restaurant is also doing something a little different for happy hour, bringing in street magicians to entertain the crowd. So if you’re dining there and someone other than The Foodie Magician starts breaking out card tricks, you’ll know it’s actually approved by the restaurant. There’s also burlesque shows at various times throughout select evenings. Mister French is now open seven days a week for dinner and late night dining. Seriously, it closes at 2 am! 218 Bowery and is open seven days a week, from 5:0 0pm – 2:00 am. Reservations are currently being offered on Resy.
