Take Out Thursday: 5 Delicious Indian Dishes To Try Right Now

This week’s edition of Take Out Thursday highlights five tasty Indian dishes from five different restaurants that are available right now for delivery and take out in New York City. We’re all about going in on some naan and saag paneer no matter what entree we order, but you do what feels right.

GupShup

We think a rack of lamb flavored with saffron and served with biryani rice cooked overnight is the perfect dish to enjoy for a pick me up. GupShup, which has several rave reviews, is one restaurant we haven’t been to but have been meaning to try. Now, we can get a taste of some of the menu items from this Gramercy Park spot by ordering from Caviar here.

MalaiMarke

Malai Marke

Sure you might be cooking up a storm, but don’t be that person in your building that’s using quarantine to try every fish recipe you see on Instagram. The smell will travel, and your neighbors will not forgive you long after coronavirus has ended. Instead, order a fish curry from an East Village staple like Malai Marke and take comfort in the fact you won’t have to burn a candle afterwards.

Paisley

Sure, you’ve probably tried tandoori chicken. But what about tandoori cornish hen? That’s one of the stand out dishes at Paisley, helmed by Michelin star recipient Peter Beck. They just opened earlier this year, so we think it’s worth checking out what could be your new go to take out spot. Order from them here.

Baar Baar

Though you probably shouldn’t eat an entire meal of bread, it’s not like people can see you’re in sweatpants right now (though we are all thinking it because we are all in sweatpants!). Try the chicken tikka and cheddar kulcha at Baar Baar. Then, order larger sweatpants, because it’s doubtful you’ll be able to resist eating more. Order from them here.

Bhatti Indian Grill

To wrap things up, we think supporting Bhatti Indian Grill is a great move. Go for a kebab, like the minced lamb with herbs and spices tossed in, what else, lamb sauce. These can be in your belly within minutes as soon as you order here.
