The First Rule of Cold Brew Club: Don't Talk about Tea. Ever.
Nowadays, you can find pretty much every type of food and drink that your heart desires online. But services like food delivery and restaurant reservations, while useful, don’t excite us the way they once did. In fact, some services that are supposed to help promote food and drink culture turn out to be pretty shitty. That’s why we’re taking the time to profile up and coming companies we think offer a unique service, product, or experience our Leisurely members would enjoy. This week, we’re kicking things off with Cold Brew Club.
Launching a business in a pandemic presents some interesting challenges, so if you want to learn more about Cold Brew Club’s founder Michael Malesyzk, including his move to go all in on cold brew after getting laid off thanks to COVID-19, you can read his LinkedIn article about that here. Or if you’re more of a visual learner and like dogs on film, check out the video below:
If not and you just want to cut to the chase, then here it is. We love cold brew in a way that might be unhealthy, but nevertheless it’s our go to drink whenever we’re out at a coffee shop. It’s cold, full of caffeine, and as long as our barista is on their game, we don’t have to wait too long for a cup. So a business that specializes in delivering boxes of cold brew batches to our front door makes complete and total sense. It comes in a cool soft bag with a tap, it’s cheaper and less time consuming than going to a cafe every day, and while you could take the time to make cold brew at home, why not treat yourself? Even if you enjoy making coffee from scratch at home, you’re probably going to want a caffeine fix while doing it. And now, you have that option.
Is there an online food or drinks business you think we should profile. Let us know in the comments!
